Minted Holiday Card Review – Plus a $50 Giveaway!

I will admit, I am not be the mom who bakes a lot, or does crafty projects each week, or all those other above and beyond things I always mean to do. Who has the time?!

BUT sending out Christmas cards is one item on my do-to list I am committed to. It’s just a nice feeling to send out a beautiful card with photos of our family and well-wishes for the season to all our nearest and dearest. I know, I know … Christmas cards already?!

I’m writing about this now, because recently I was contacted by Minted to check out their new holiday line of cards. As an already established Minted user and fan, I was happy to oblige. Even better, I get to offer one of you a $50 Minted gift card! More details at the bottom of this post.

For me personally, I am all about showcasing photos in my Christmas cards, so I tend to pick a design that leaves a lot of room for pictures. Here are some of my favorites:

Looking Up

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the many messages, comments and calls I received after my last blog post. It touched my heart to hear from so many of you about your own experiences and stories. Thank YOU for sharing with me. Knowing you’re not alone as you go through something difficult is sometimes the best thing to bring you through.

This past week I feel as though a weight has been lifted and life has gotten back to being good. Scratch that, great. I have so much to be thankful for and this week I really tried to slow down, notice and appreciate the joy in my life. Like…

This week seemed to be filled with many little reminders to enjoy life. I really believe in the signs the universe sends, and this week they all pointed ahead, telling me “things are getting better and the best is yet to come.”

The Vintage Pearl: Hand-Stamped Jewelry

Did you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day? We were in Scottsdale, AZ relaxing by the pool for a belated one  year anniversary trip. I was missing my mom though. Days like Sunday are when it’s hard to live so far from home!

I sent her a little something to let her know I was missing her from a lovely website called The Vintage Pearl. Have you heard of it? It’s handmade jewelry with a very personal touch perfect for moms. I got my mom these “mother of pearl” earrings that she loved.

They have a lot of other sweet gifts perfect for a special lady in your life as well. Most of them are handstamped with special names, dates or phrases so you can personalize the gift.

Handstamped NecklaceI can think of so many occasions where a piece of jewelry from the Vintage Pearl would be a wonderful gift – engagements, mother’s day, baby showers…

I love that the jewelry is causal enough to wear every day and will go with most any outfit. Plus it’s very appropriately priced for handmade, personalized jewelry – necklaces are around $45.

What did you give mom this Mother’s Day?

Lovely Long-Sleeved Wedding Dresses

Did you guys watch the royal wedding? I didn’t wake up, but have it DVRed and plan to spend tonight catching up on all the moments I missed.

One thing that could not wait was getting a look at Kate Middleton’s wedding dress! I expected something classically beautiful and she definitely delivered. Doesn’t she look breathtaking?

I didn’t think that I would like such a classic dress so much – especially with the long sleeves. But the silhouette and feminine lace captured my heart.

Kate’s dress made me curious about other long-sleeved wedding gowns out there. I spent some time Googling and found some other fabulous long-sleeved dresses I had to share.
