Morgan and Stefan’s Dude Ranch Wedding

While in Colorado recently, I connected with a colleague – Morgan – over our love of weddings, blogging (she’s at mountaingirls.wordpress.com) and pretty pictures. She showed me shots of her  wedding and I fell in love. You guys- she got married at a dude ranch!

Morgan and her husband Stefan met and fell in love at a real life dude ranch called FH Bar Ranch in Wyoming where they both worked one summer. When it came time to choose their wedding venue, they decided to bring their friends and family back to where it all started and the result is one of the most unique, charming, rustic and memorable weddings I’ve ever seen!

I love her yellow and green bouquet (those were the same colors I chose!).

Eyelet wedding dress and cowboy boots? It doesn’t get more adorable than that.

After they said “I Do” horses were set to run free behind the ceremony site. What a special moment!

This next shot is my favorite. It seriously belongs in a museum.

The lovely couple.

Again, I adore the green and yellow touches. Lemons were such a great decor idea Morgan!

Morgan told me her husband hand painted the cake toppers to look like them. What a sweet guy!

I also heard this bouquet toss got a little out of control. I won’t go into details, but let’s just say dresses were torn. :)

Little did the girls know, but she threw a “decoy” bouquet that actually split into six bouquets so more of her friends could “catch” it. I bet many boyfriends were sweating that night!

Morgan, you guys did such an amazing job planning a truly memorable wedding. I’m positive seeing these pictures that all your guest fell in love with the ranch the way you two did that summer.

I’m Going to Be a Double Auntie!

I’m so happy I can finally share some exciting news – I’m going to be an aunt x2! My sister Amy (on the left) and my best friend Julia (on the right) are both pregnant!

Aren’t they both adorable?! I can’t get over how cute they are with their bumps.

Amy is having a GIRL due in November and Julia is having a BOY due in October! While I would have been over joyed with any combination of boys/girls, I am really excited to have one of each. Baby shower shopping should be a blast!

Congrats Amy and Julia! You’re both going to be amazing mothers and I can’t wait to spoil the heck out of each of your babes.

Ladies First…

This weekend my friends Molly and Molly came in town (Molly sandwich!) from the Bay Area. We had a great time in Tahoe exploring some hidden beaches, hiking, rafting and attending the Reno Rodeo.

We were having fun taking in all the action – cowboys lassoing cows, carnival rides, tons of fried foods, rodeo clowns….it was quite a scene!

About mid-way through the night, Molly #2 left us to go to the rest room. When she returned, she had the cutest story to tell.

Molly was standing in line for the bathrooms when she noticed a small boy (about five or six) standing with his mom, behind her. The boy was jumping up and down like he was trying REALLY hard to hold it.

When they got toward the front, Molly turned around and asked him “Do you want to go ahead of me?”

The boy’s mom looked at him and said, “Honey, is it an emergency?” The little boy shook his head and said “No, I’ll be okay. Thanks.”

Molly smiled and turned back around.

Then she heard the boy say, “Mom, it really is an emergency, but, you know…ladies first!!”

Molly about melted where she stood from the cuteness. When she told us the story, we couldn’t get over how adorable this little guy’s display of good manners was. Especially since we have seen many grown men who don’t think twice about cutting in the bathroom line in front of a woman.

Major kudos to that kiddo’s parents. I hope that little boy manages to keep his manners intact as he gets older, because I think most women agree – a man with manners is a BIG plus and hard to find these days!

Have you witnessed a display of good manners lately?
