Summer is in full swing here in Ohio! Our kids have been enjoying getting outside, going to the pool and playing tennis. Even though this summer looks different than years past due to COVID, we are making the most of the beautiful weather.

One thing I wanted to do was capture the kids in a photo session, so when Brittany from Brittany Ann Photography offered to do a watermelon mini session I jumped at the chance. The photos turned out so adorable and the kids had a blast!

Brittany does such a fantastic job of capturing the kids personalities. She’s so good with the kids that I honestly didn’t do a thing for this shoot! And can we also talk about how Lila looks 16!?

Mother’s Day Giveaway: New T3 Single Pass Ceramic Straightener

Well it’s day 53 of quarantine in Ohio and after living exclusively in leggings, t-shirts and no personal grooming, I’m officially sick of being a slob!

So far my hair routine in quarantine has consisted of washing and air drying. MAYBE I’ll dry my roots a bit. So basically I’ve looked like a hot mess most days. This weekend I had had enough and actually blew my hair dry completely. I contemplated curling or straightening it, but decided baby steps was enough. lol

Thankfully Costco reached out and hooked me up with some styling products from T3 just in time to clean my act up for Mother’s Day. They sent me the T3 Featherweight 3i hairdryer and the Single Pass Ceramic Straightener.

I have a ton of hair and it takes forever to dry and style. Usually it just air dries and gets put in a bun. The Featherweight hairdryer is so light that even drying all my hair didn’t tire out my arm. Plus it has in-infused airstream that gave me a smooth, shiny finish. The dryer on it’s own was enough to make my hair feel soft and styled.

I followed it up with the T3 SinglePass Flat Iron. I have always used T3 brand for my straighteners, so I was excited to try this one out. It has even, consistent heat so you truly only need one pass through your hair. I was able to straighten all my hair, even the wavy, textured part underneath, in five minutes. The result was frizz-free and shiny. Plus I liked that there was NO pulling or tugging aka no breakage.

Lila is six years old now and we’re officially living in the land of a million questions. Our curious girl wants to know all about the world around her! Some recent questions include:

Giveaway! Win Four Free Tickets to Cirque du Soleil in Toledo

One of the things I love doing with Lila is taking her to see shows. Whether its a big professional performance, or a small jr. high production of Annie Jr., I love sharing my love of theater with her. She already is quite the little actress too! It seems like she’s constantly singing to herself or acting out some skit.

One show coming up that I’m excited to take her to is Cirque du Soleil’s new show OVO, coming to the Huntington Center in Toledo May 31 – June 4. This show is family-friendly and combines three things Lila loves: dancing, music and nature.

Here’s a bit more about the storyline:

OVO, meaning “egg” in Portuguese, is a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.

When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives. It is love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye – and the feeling is mutual.

If you’ve never seen a Cirque Du Soleil show, I highly recommend it. This is the type of performance that will awe adults and children alike, with incredible acrobats, colorful sets and costumes and fun, upbeat music.
